Number of people too high for Baby Shower?

Is there such thing as inviting too many people to a baby shower? Right now, my guest list is about 45 people. I feel like Im forgetting some, so the number will most likely go up. I know that some people may not be able to come so it's not a definite number. How many people were invited to your Baby shower?

  1. 45 is fine...even 50. I'll prob have about 40-50 people on my list...I have a very big family...not everyone will necessarily be able to attend.
  2. No I dont think theres a number The more the merrier.
  3. It will be awhile before I have my baby shower. I have been to two in recent months where the one shower had about 25 people and she invited about 35. I attended a co-ed shower, at that one - there was at least 60 men, women and children at the shower. Who's to say what number is too many. Its your shower, and you have the right to have any type of shower you want, and invite as many people as you want.
  4. yes you should only have the people that r close to you come
  5. I say... The more the merrier! As long as you can afford the hungry mouths.
  6. there is not a number
  7. I dont think it matters how many people u invite as long as you have enough room and enough drink and food for all the people you invite.. rember the more people u invite the more gifts you will get, also all the people you invite most likley a few wont show
  8. More Friends, family. = more money, more diapers, more wipes, and more clothes!! Actually, I didn't invite many people to mine, just a few.. But more came then expected! Any number you want, is a number deserved. It's not anyone's opinion that matters. If you want lots of people, or close people, then go for it!
  9. i think it is too high b/c i went to one that took over 3 hours to open gifts and people were ready to go home...can you split it into 2-3 smaller showers so you arent opening gifts for 5 hours. i am having 3 around 15-20 per shower
  10. I think that there will be 40-45 people at my shower...Its our first baby so we have NOTHING! I think 45-50 people is perfectly acceptable...like you said not all of them will come and the ones who do will bring gifts leaving you with a lot less to buy. Good Luck!
  11. Well mine so far is at about 60! But not everyone will come so im guessing at least 45.
  12. there were 75 people invited to my shower!!!Not all of them came, but we had at least 55 people there! You're number isn't high at all hun. There are tons of people who will want to share that exciting day with you!
  13. I dont think there is such a thing as too many people for a baby shower. My cousin (we have a big family, plus she is very well-liked) had almost 100 at her shower. It was big but it was fun and also, whats wrong with getting lots of gifts for your baby so you dont have to spend the money? Nothing, in my opinion!! :) I would say that as long as it doesnt go over maybe 80, you should be fine. 100 seemed like a lot, but then again she had a big hall she rented, so it wasnt that bad. As long as you are willing to write all of the thank you cards, i dont see a problem with having over 50.
  14. That's perfectly fine. Keep in mind that not everyone will be able to attend.
