The Amount of Clothes to Take to College?
I am starting college in two weeks, I am started to get it ready and pack all of my stuff up. When my mom comes to watch me cheer at a few football games, she can bring me a few things but not alot and I probably wont be home until the end of November. I am trying to think of what all I am going to need. I have a decent size room, so I dont need to really skimp because of that. Right now I plan on taking: - 1 Thick Pea Coat - 3 Lighter Coats - 5 sweater / cardigans - 20 - 30 Going out tops - 10 dresses that can be used for parties, business events, dances - 10 - 15 bras - 30 pairs of underwear - 20 pairs of socks - 20 tanks, camis - 10 - 15 baggy tee shirts - 5 - 10 hoodies - 15 - 20 pairs of Soffee shorts - 10 - 15 pairs of sweatpants - 20 pairs of jeans - 10 pairs of jean shorts - 4 pairs of dress pants - 10 pairs of flip-flops - 2 pairs of tennis shoes - 5 pairs of flats - ugg boots, in black and brown - rain boots Is this appropriate for college? I have to be able to cover weather in the 90's in August, to possible below freezing in November, its Ohio.

- Damn. o.o; It's what ever fits the weather. :D Hell yeah girl. You're set! :)
- i want to steal your closet! haha seriously girl, you got alotta clothes :) you sound like you have pretty much everything covered. best of luck in college!
- That seems like a lot of clothing, but that's actually a good amount for a college student. It's better to take too much than too little, in my opinion. I took just as much clothes in my first year of school, and it ended up being more than enough. :) You could go about a month without doing laundry, which is good because doing laundry at school can sometimes be a pain. Good luck in your first year of school! :D
- Yes, I think it's perfect. But you are planning on bringing a lot of clothes, just make sure you have space for all of it. You seem to be prepared for any event you come across. Good luck in college!
- You are set! You are right to bring that much underwear :) Ask your Mom and Dad if they went to collage they sure have some advice too. I go to a boarding school far away in switzerland and bring about half as that much with me. My Mom sends me some stuff.
- that seems like alot, you probably could cut down on the shorts, hoodies, flip-flops, jean shorts, going out tops. Don't forget, you don't need any summer or spring clothes. You should be able to grab them from your house at spring break or sometime close.
- I went to school in Ohio,l lived there actually. I dont think it gets THAT cold in November but you never know. You dont mention if your shirts are able to be worn to school. You said baggy tsirts and going out tops. Are they all in good enough condition to wear to class? If they are I think you have a good list of stuff. You may need to pack some gloves. My hands always got so cold walking across campus. I think what you have packed will be fine.
