From This is directed towards people who are well versed in the bible, hence understand why these questions lead to contradicting answers. You may continue, even though it cut off, you've got 439 to go, and your first answers isn't so good, its already contradicted what the bible says. I've read a Good News bible 5 times, KJV 12 times, every apocryphic book at least once and the Quran 3 times. Sorry to disappoint you, I know of all these contradictions, I had to copy paste because there were just oh so many! Gina just contradicted Craig B for me, I didn't even need to argue to win that one! I have to repost this!

Public Comments

  1. Was Abraham justified by faith or by works? It was by faith that he entered into his friendship with God and it was his works that kept him there. We can continue if you'd like.
  2. Good job on the copy and paste. I would ask you if you personally ever read these things? If you havent, then its no wonder why youre so confused. Please take the time to study these things properly, and then maybe you would see why there are so many people, even INTELLIGENT people that take these things seriously. *edit* and copypasta, I cant be bothered wasting my time on the ignorant for they will never listen, but I would school you if you wanted to sit down and discuss these important truths, but like Christ said, -Cast not the pearls unto the swine, for they will trample them under their feet.
  3. Oh dear! If you can be bothered to take the time to examine the context and/or cross reference all Bible verses that appear to be contradictory, you will soon discover that no such 'contradictions' are there. To all those who have 'thumbs downed' me and other sensible answerer's: have you thoroughly studied the Bible?....No, I didn't think so!
  4. I might point out that some of those already have refutations on the pages, so believers might want to focus on the ones that aren't refuted yet, and send in an explanation to the SAB. Some of the refutations make perfect sense. For example, "How many languages were there before the Tower of Babel was built?" has a self-consistent explanation. edit: and "From what were the animals created?" doesn't have a response, convincing or otherwise. edit: copying and pasting things that have been address, on the source you are copying from, is just as irritating as seeing Pascal's Wager for the billionth time.
  5. wow, ljet and HT didn't even attempt to answer one of your questions. They just pulled some BS out of their @$$es.
  6. There is a whole field of Christian apologetics to come up with stories that provide plausible denial ability that these are inconsistencies or contradictions. For example, one contradiction that I didn't see on your list is how did Judas die according to the Bible. In one story he gives his money he got for betrayal to priests to buy a field to bury foreigners and in another gospel he uses it to buy himself some land. In one story he dies by hanging himself due to guilt. In the other story he dies from a fall that causes his organs to burst out of his body. Christian apologetics simply say that (the most usual ones I've encountered, there are multiple excuses I've heard for this) it was a combination of the two stories and the different authors stressed different aspects. Same with things like the vast differences in who saw Jesus and visited the tomb after the crucifixion or how many saw the alleged assent to heaven. The Bible has different stories or accounts that don't match. People will many times just find ways to believe what they want to believe though.
  7. You still can't do it, can you? Please give us a bullet point list of contradictions in the Bible with chapter and verse, otherwise we'll have to assume you've simply cut and pasted from a site where people have mindlessly posted things with no foundation in truth. Your above list is not a list of contradictions, it's a list of questions, and there are not chapter and verse references so that people can check what is really going on, which tells me this is mindless parroting. *squawk squawk*
  8. All of these so-called contradictions can be explained. There are no contradictions in God's word You said.. you'd read the bible 5 times plus 12 times etc. Opening the bibe 5 times & flicking briefly through it, does not count as reading through it you know To read & meditate properly on the entire scriptures the amount of times you claim (17) ... would take a huge amount of years.
  9. Can't really get this - huh? You state that there is a contraction in the Bible. So, you write out the Bible verse which you have an issue with and then the other verse that you think is the contradiction. You state your case for the supposed contradiction and open up the table for discussion. Try it again. Pick one from your list and cite the source. Know that if anyone can prove that your contraction is NOT a contradiction, then YOU and you alone are at fault, not Scripture. (Which was the first premise)
  10. How many men did the chief of David's captains kill? Slain - By his own hand, five hundred more being slain by others then joining with him, who pursued the victory, both which sums make up the eight hundred, numbered 23:8. The slaughter of all is justly ascribed to him, because it was the effect of his valour. Was Abraham justified by faith or by works? FAITH WAS ACTIVE ALONG WITH HIS WORKS, and faith was COMPLETED by works … You see that a man is JUSTIFIED BY WORKS AND NOT BY FAITH ALONE How many sons did Abraham have? He had 6 altogether but they talk about them at different points in the bible. That is all I am going to do for the moment. If you wish to email me your list I can do all of them you want me too. edit...perhaps he didn't know as it does talk about the kids all at different points in the bible. I had to go looking that one up so it's not necessarily a contradiction as much as just not knowing. Here are the verses where it talks about his children...... Then again Abraham took a wife, and her name was Keturah. And she bare him Zimran, and Jokshan, and Medan, and Midian, and Ishbak, and Shuah. - Genesis 25:1-2 Abraham had two sons; one by a bonds-maid, the other by a free woman. - Galatians 4:22 By faith, Abraham when he was tried offered up Isaac... his only begotten son. - Hebrews 11:17 It just talks about the kids depending on when it was important to mention them.
  11. Most of theses are just questions and not contradictions that I can answer. But let me ask you if this is a contradiction? 1 Cor. 1:21 "For after that is the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe." That just don't include you.
