is there a more professional alternative to youtube?

So I am a huge youtube user. But I've come to find that youtube is becoming too much of a social networking site rather than a video hosting site. I really hate how they have changed the layout to the entire site (especially your own personal page has been changed (which makes it not so personal anymore if you ask me)). And to top that all off, there are a bunch of teenie boppers that have no sense that upload endless amounts of crap on youtube day after day. Basically, I'm sick of seeing millions of tribute videos that were edited on windows movie maker. I aspire to work with film and video professionally (I am a film student). and I want to be able to show off my work to people that will actually care, as well as understand. to sum that all up.... is there a more professional alternative to youtube (and I'm talking about stuff online, so don't give me any wise ass answers)

  1. You could try veoh.com . I generally think the quality is much better but it doesn't have such a big viewer base as Youtube.
  2. there are clubs in you tube you can join
