Are the cars in gta4 copied from cars in real life but had their names changed?

If so could the cars be listed. I believe the comet is the 9/11 turbo but i do not know anymore. Are there any other features in the game that have been copied from real life and used in the games?

2. Yes-Smart question-i have a car collection even know im a girl which is ok but i dont get why people think its wierd but i was playing it with my brother and i looked at one car and went to my room and i had the same one! Smart question
3. Yeah the comet does look like a Porsche. The super GT looks like a Mercedes SLK. I think they base most the cars off of real cars.
