Could you please give me a list of your top ten books to read and list them by category for 2010?
I need some new ideas on what to read. I enjoy reading all kinds of books; sci-fi, true crime, etc. Brack, I loved Percy Jackson and The Olympian series! I am hoping there will be more of those!

- Sci-Fi and True Crime? I'll give you a varied list, but none are Sci-Fi or True Crime. Go to the library and read the first paragraph--that's how I can usually tell if I might like to read a book. Some of the books below are action/private investigator; some are fantasy; a couple are novels. These are not in order by best-to-worst, just a list of some of my recent favorites: !) The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime by Mark Haddon. A mystery written from the point of view of a boy or teenager with autism. A great read. 2) Beat the Reaper, by Josh Bazell. Best book of 2009, in my opinion. 3) The Killing Floor, by Lee Child. 4) The Watchman, by Robert Crais. And any other book by Crais--all are very well written. The Watchman was a hands-down favorite, though. 5) Author Patricia Brigg's Mercy Thompson series--Bone Crossed, Iron Kissed, Blood Bound, Moon Called. Maybe these are only favorites for women. 6) Same for any book by Tamora Pierce--all of her books are great, but maybe men would not enjoy them. Most are written for Young Adults. 7) Motherless Brooklyn, by Jonathan Lethem. 8) Richard Riordan's Percy Jackson and the Olympians series. These are children's fantasy, but I'm an adult and loved them. 9) Martha Grimes "Biting the Moon" and "Dakota." 10) A lot of people are reading Push by Sapphire (the movie "Precious" is based on this). 11) One more--a lot of people are reading The Help by Kathryn Stockett. I've just started it so can't say yet whether it's a favorite.
