What are your thoughts/opinions on these top 10 lists?

The list for 09's most popular baby names where I live (New Zealand) just came out in the news. What do you think about them? Rate them? Is this what you thought they would of been? Do you think they're similar to the US's trends? Basically just want some feedback and opinions on the names! thanks! 1. yes!! all of these names are basically common in the U.S.A although i haven't really heard that much of any liam's Oliver's Ruby and Ella but I've heard them before around town i just dont hear them that often especially oliver but the rest your fine
2. These are the exact same name as the Australian one and the US one.
3. I think that your list and the list of the US names show an obvious trend towards the more traditional, family names. I love the names James, William & Bejamin; Sophie & Amelia
4. Your names are similar to the Australian top 10... They're definitely better than the US ones, a lot less trendy and all the names are on the correct genders too. My favourites are: Jack Oliver Joshua Samuel Benjamin Olivia Emily Charlotte Emma Amelia :)
5. Isabella is very big here in the US! Specially now after twilight!
6. Yes, these are names commonly used in the US, but a bit more formal. Outta your boys names my top 3 were 1.James 2.Daniel 3.William Girls names were all beautiful but top 3 1. Isabella 2. Emma 3.Ella
7. I actually really love all of them! You New Zealanders have quite good taste in names, I must say; the Jaydens and Aidens that are plaguing the US's most popular name lists are not in appearance here. I'm seriously in love with all of the top ten boy's except for Joshua and Daniel; I especially adore Jack, Oliver, James, and William. For the top ten girl's, I like them all but love only Sophie, Ruby, Lily, and Amelia.
8. If I were having a child right now I would pick Sophie or Olivia for girls and Benjamin or Brandon for boys.
9. wel i cant say im suprised!!! but im more of a trendy, modern name fan so these bore me!! i couldnt even pick 3 i like out of the boys...only realy jack and liam<<and thats at a push! and girls well...if i had to choose it wud be ruby, ella and lily but ella at a push again. they all just bore me now and have become so predictable!
