How do you find out if you are on a border no crossing list if you want to cross the Canadian American border?

Is there a simple accessible way to find out if your name is on a list which will prevent you from crossing the Canadian American border?

1. I would assume the easiest way is to try to get across and see if they stop you. You'll know for sure then. If you really want to know, maybe try calling the Ministry of Transportation or the border crossing you will be using. I don't see why you would be on a no crossing list unless you were some kind of criminal, though.
2. there is no list available to the public.
3. I would imagine you could contact the Immigration services and find out.
4. Why would you be on a no crossing list??? If you know an answer to that question that makes any sense, then you will probably have answered your own question. And never having had to give such a list a fleeting thought in all my life, I'm also curious.
