when asked to list work experience in chronological order, what does that mean?

does it mean that you start with your current job going backwards or you start with the very first job you had listing until your present job?

Public Comments

  1. start with your first job and end with your present job
  2. very first to current •chronology - an arrangement of events in time so start from the very beginning to the very latest simple
  3. Chronological means time. So start with the first job you had till the present time. --Polish
  4. start with your first job and carry on like that so that the last one on your list is your present job
  5. The advice given on the Prospects website is that a chronological cv lists work experience in reverse order. There is a sample cv here: http://www.prospects.ac.uk/downloads/documents/prospects/IDD/Special%20Interests%20Series/CVs/2009/cv_chronological.pdf So you would list your current or most recent job first and then any previous jobs in reverse order. Your very first job would be at the end of the list. The reason for this is that an employer will be most interested in your recent work experience and slightly less interested in earlier jobs, although they are still important This answer was provided by Enquire, a 24-hour, live question answering and enquiry service offered by public librarians across England and Scotland in collaboration with partners in the United States. 6. normally from first to last but most company's seem not to mind if in reverse order hope this helps
  7. Most CVs I have seen are like this: Most Recent Experience Experience... First Experience So start with your most recent - it shows what you are capable of at a glance rather than making them spend time looking for it.
  8. They want you to start with the earliest. Most employers ask for previous jobs in reverse chronological order - that is starting with the most recent and ending with the earliest.
