why do people in the religion section put up long bible verses, as if anyone actually reads them?

honestly, if you cant back up your own thoughts on religion, with something that YOU yourself, have written, doesnt that show a lack of intelligence on someones part? please tell me i am NOT the only one who scrolls past the mile long list of bible verses that inevitably show up at least once in the answers of EVERY question in this section? MKB....you say your thoughts are fallen and depraved....you just helped prove my point even further. and someone said "dont have a cow about the bible". im not. i just dont think it demonstrates any actual knowledge to copy and paste a wall of script without injecting any of your own thoughts to explain it. shell, your typing skills are atrocious. your sentences are so fragmented by unneeded punctuation that i cant actually tell where one sentence ends and another one starts. i dont know what point you were trying to prove, but if you continue to type like that, you will never prove anything to anyone 4ever....wow...just...wow....really? if your words are meaningless, then i should just flat out ignore your answer shouldnt i? and you say im not intelligent but you are the one using 4 instead of for and 2 instead of to. if your going to write an answer attempting to insult someone or prove a lack of brain power somewhere, then stop typing like the whole world is one big text message

1. I'm with you. It's their insecurity, as if quoting scripture has some "magical power" to convert you.
2. Sometimes I put up lists of verses to point out to some Christian that no, the Bible does not support what they just said. They only pay attention to the verses that support what they already believe and ignore the contradictory ones.

11. What's wrong with backing up their idea's with Bible verses? They at least have some references to back them up. I'm not saying you should read them, I definitely don't, but at least they're not just blowing chunks like the rest of you.
12. We have the Bible, God's word to back us up. Our words are worthless. God's word reigns above any mere humans words. We refer to the Bible for everything. It's certainly not a lack of intelligence.

15. I kind of understand why they do it. To them, every line in the Bible is magical, full of infinite meaning and the ultimate answer to whatever`s been asked. To the non-deluded, it's just the poorly translated scribblings of some xenophobic desert tribe.

17. If you are in the Religion section of Yahoo Answers and you don't like to see/ read Bible verses as answers to your questions, then maybe you should go to another section like poetry or whatever. Verses are used so that you go by what the Bible says not someone'sinterpretation of the Bible. The Bible needs no interpretation, it explains itself, all you have to do is have an open mind and listen to God's word, not men's. Would you like to know more about this directly from the Bible. Next time a Jehovah's Witness comes to your door, ask them and accept a free Bible study. What you do with the knowledge you acquiree is you decision.

19. It's just part of who they are and how they think. They really, sincerely believe we read them. The same way some men think that ALL men like big b**bs and that any man who claims otherwise is either lying or sissified. = )
