What can you look at in an article or journal to know if it has been peer reviewed?
In an article or a journal, I need to know how to look at it to tell if it has been peer reviewed. Is there a peer review marking on it somewhere, or are there names listed somewhere of the peers who reviewed it?
Public Comments
- There could be names listed as acknowledgments. e.g. Written by Peter Po. Edited by Terry Lim. or if you know the person and their ability to write, then it would be obvious whether they have had it edited.
- How are you finding the articles? If you are looking at an online database, such as EBSCO Host or Academic Search Premier, then there's an option where you can search for only peer reviewed journals. Just look for the option and check the box. The first person who responded is incorrect, because peer review is not the same thing as editing. Peer reviewing is done anonymously and therefore there are no names listed for the people who reviewed it.
