A few IT/Win 2k3 server management questions.?

A reference would greatly be appreciated. 1. What are the 3 consoles that appear when a computer is promoted to a domain controller? 2. What record do you have to verify to make sure that the domain controller is setup correctly? 3. Where is the printer separator page templates located? List the path. Thank you to anybody/everybody that can provide an educated answer, and also list reference!

1. Not sure exactly what 3 consoles you are referring to, but assuming you have promoted your server to a domain controller (DC) and you are using an edition of Server 2003, you will have several MMCs available after promoting a server to a DC. If you have your Administrative Tools exposed you can point to Start, Programs, Administrative Tools to see the newly exposed MMC consoles available to you. If not, you can type Start, run, mmc, then click OK. You can add a snapin for some of the new consoles. Depending on the roles of your DC (DNS/DHCP, etc.) those consoles may be available. Some consoles available after promotion include Sites and Services, Domains and Trusts, Active Directory Users and Computers, etc... Try TechNet on Microsoft.com. I don't recall the exact record in the System log to check to verify the promotion works, but you can check various AD containers, including the Domain Controllers built in container to see if an object exists for your server.
