I want the page numbers of my word document to start at 4... How do i do this?

okay i've searched and tried everything, so now I think I'm gonna go insane. Here's what I've done:: Click Insert Menu -> Select Break -> Select Next Page from section break type 4th page where i want page # 1 to show up i click: Click View menu -> Select Header and footer Click Insert menu-> Select Page Number Clicked on the FORMAT button on this small dialog. then clicked on the radio button Start At and give 1 (one) as the starting page number so now I have my fourth page listed as #1 which is perfect... however ALL THE FOLLOWING PAGES DONT HAVE ANYTHING IN THE FOOTER. any help is appreciated

  1. You are one millimeter away from getting this right! After you go to the appropriate section/Page 4, View Menu, select Header and Footer, click on the # button. This is the insert page number button on the Header and Footer toolbar . Then click on the Insert Menu, Select Page Number, Format Button, Start at 1. The # button from the Header and Footer toolbar is the only step missing. I tested these steps successfully in Word 2003.
