I posted a question with an article from a religious paper and several atheists did not bother?

even reading the article because of where it was posted, so I am wondering if that is a valid excuse for Christians not to approve things that atheists believe because the findings are posted in science books or publications. By this standard of judging then we are right in not even reading articles listed in these things?

  1. Midge, you just made me smack my forehead! Even you will admit that any religious beliefs are all about faith, right? Unlike science, faith can't be peer reviewed or tested :)
  2. because science is unbiased... it's done neutrally, there is no agenda... on the other hand, your christian publications DO have an agenda, to get as many people as possible to subscribe to their religion...
  3. Wait... you think scientists aren't theists as well? Wow, you're so brainwashed. Tell me, would you go to a Muslim website to find good information on the correlation between intelligence and being Islamic? Yeah, I didn't think so.
  4. Who are these 'christians' that believe things that are written in science books? I thought they took their beliefs from the bible.
  5. Those people are ignorant, plain and simple. But keep reading, to "out smart" someone is to know their arguments and show them to be wrong.
  6. When something is in a scientific journal, that shows it has been peer reviewed. Something in a religious paper has no standard of evidence or proof whatsoever. Do you see the difference?
  7. People are free to believe whatever they like. It doesn't make their beliefs fact. I read it and commented. I very seldom do read or watch links however. Nearly everything posted here is opinion. If a person can't state their own opinion and belief they should question why they have them. I suspect that people assumed it was like the majority of links posted here which are long heavily biased rants. While it wasn't as 'ranty' as most - it was pretty biased and didn't actually support its claim.
  8. Atheism is tantamount to amoral, nihilistic ignorance. Atheism: Together we can defeat it!
  9. But you DON'T accept things that atheists believe when they're written in science texts! The difference is that science texts deal with EVIDENCE whereas religious texts deal with BELIEF! If you want to claim exclusion from anything suggested by science, stop using our flu jabs!
  10. Do you think science books have an atheist agenda? If so, do you wear a tinfoil hat?
  11. Maybe people simply weren't interested in the article. People do have a choice about what they read, after all.
  12. I read the article but I did not respond. I'm sorry. I thought it was sad when the author mentioned that people with higher intelligence are more inclined to go crazy. I guess Americans should be proud that their average iq is less than 100.
  13. Judging things before reading them based solely on their provider is not acceptable for anyone.
  14. I read the article. I have no use for an organization that protects pedophiles.
  15. Funny - I posted a few questions and they just flat out got deleted so...Tell you what - you link to it and I'll go there.
  16. I won't read your article and you don't have to read mine...deal?
  17. If you're questions are private, what the point of referring to one. I have no idea what you are talking about....
  18. thats not why but they just NEED TO STAY on the subject here..
  19. What do I care if you remain an uneducated numbskull?
  20. I read it, I just didn't bother responding. I've never claimed to be smarter than all Christians. I've claimed to be far more in touch with reality than creationists on the whole however, and certainly more intelligent than a lot of people who believe in creationism. This isn't about generalities however; it's about looking at people who are wilfully ignorant of reality in favour of what's written in the bible. This is stupidity. But I have never in my life called Christians on the whole stupid, or myself more intelligent than anyone who happens to believe in God. That being said, as others have pointed out, your source was a biased one, whereas a science journal is not.
  21. You just depicted science as OPPOSED to christianity, you realize it don“t you?
  22. Why sink to their level? Read what they have to say and take it with a grain of salt. I find humor in some of their "scientific findings". Magley wrote, "because science is unbiased...it's done neutrally, there is no agenda..." Maybe you should tell Al Gore that. "Scientific evidence" can be presented and twisted to show what the scientist wants it to show. There are very few things that 100% of scientists agree upon.
  23. I do not understand your question at all.Atheists do not believe in anything.
  24. Are you refering to the one praising "Serial Killers" as being extremely intelligent??? THIS Atheist read it. And I resent the Un-PC term "Serial Killer".
  25. If you believe science to be an atheist agenda, then it is valid in your head. Just not in real life.
  26. The two are totally incomparable. Religion is faith science is based on fact. if you believe the world is round not flat then you are believing in science/fact, rather than the story in the bible about the earth being flat and having four corners - Its okay to believe this there is no problem in it especially if you talk about your story to other believers - but you cant mix facts and story or you just get story. You certainly cannot mix stories with fact with scientists
  27. Good god - most devout Christians live and die on the ability to absolutely ignore facts that are all around them. Where do you think that the Blessed Horse Blinders of True Faith originated? I am pretty sure that most scientific journals are to Christians what garlic is to a vampire.
  28. I thought some would find it a joyous occasion when Atheists simply don't bother.(the only folks getting upset are the ones that are trying change people and well, they shouldn't bother) You can choose to ignore anything written in a non religious forum or publication that is all up to you and if most Theists decide to follow suit then alright it's really no sweat of my back.
  29. Let me explain how two of them work differently: Scientists gathers up evidence and put it together like a puzzles to come up with a theory. Religious people just come up with a theory then pick up evidences and throw out those that doesn't fit in the theory frame and cramp things in until they fit. You cannot get a accurate answer if you come up with theory first then force all evidence to fit in it. It's just like as you cannot make puzzles work if you just force any pieces together and throw out what you can't make work.
