Is it ok to have a 4 page resume the way i put it?

In my resume the pages are listed like this 1 cover letter 2 skills, education 3 work experience 4 volunteer experience, hobbies/interests references I had 3 jobs and the two jobs were a cashier at mcdonald's and a dishwasher at a resturant i did the same duties at two different mcdonald's locations (one is in a different city) and put them down under both cashier jobs and wasn't sure if i could reword one of the jobs duties as a cashier at mcdonald's.

  1. If its longer than 1 page most HR will just throw it away
  2. Technically, it should be a cover letter and a one page resume that highlights your education and careers. Try and be short and to the point. They need to see what experience you've had, but don't go into great detail- that's what an interview is for. I have found that the longer your resume is, the less appealing it is to look at and with the experience you have, you don't really need to go into detail. Any hiring boss knows the duties that a dishwasher and a cashier does. Good luck!
  3. OK - NO resumes should be limited to 1 page. All of those things you listed do not need to have their own page. Actually - exclude volunteer experience/hobbies, employers don't care unless they ask you. and work experience goes before education.
  4. Your resume should be 1 page - that's it. Unless you have years and years of experience, then you could extend to a 2nd page. So keep the cover letter brief and use bullet points for your resume. Keep it clean and professional, to the point. Good luck.
  5. Resumes are supposed to be one page only. If you want to give more details use a cover letter, this is also one page only. Please answer my question below. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20091208104222AAjspW1
  6. 1. The cover letter does not count as one of the pages of your resume. You send a resume and a cover letter together; they are two different things. The resume is the pages after the cover letter. 2. If your only jobs were as a cashier and as a dishwasher, then a three-page resume is too long. A cover letter and a one page resume is sufficient; anything over two pages (not including the cover letter) is too much. 3. References should not be listed on a resume. Put the references on a separate page and provide them if requested.
