is angie's list a scam?

My business has been contacted by Angie’s list several times over the last couple years about buying add placement on Angie’s list and I know dozens of businesses in my industry nationally that have had the same experience . I thought it was member driven, not business? Any thoughts or explanations?

2. I have never heard of this and I would not do it if your not comfortable.. If you have to question the validity of it then it is a scam
3. mmmm that seems VERY unusual for Angie's list! You're right, it is customer driven. They may have an advertising drive to list an advertisement, but the company may NOT be on the 'preferred' list...Check it out
4. contact your local better business bureau, See if they know about this person you speak of
