Public Comments

  1. you forgot celebrating birthdays and holidays
  2. Most of the things on your list the JW's would consider a matter of conscious. In other words, it is up to the individual whether or not he or she chooses to participate.
  3. I don't think this list only applies to JWs, I know a lot of Christians who will not do a lot of these things (obviously substituting Christian schools and organisations with those of another faith)
  4. You forgot Steal Lie Murder cheat on their partners and eat Budgies.... lol... Seriously, the list is INACCURATE. If you want an accurate list of our beliefs, go to our official website http://www.watchtower.org/ My name is Sunshine and I am one of Jehovah's Witnesse
  5. Sorry but I could not help but laugh at some of these. To tell you the truth, as a Jehovah's Witness, there are many of those things you mentioned here that I do not do. And that is not necessarily because someone tells me not to. You see, if any other JW tells me that I can not do or that I SHOULD not do it, they have to use the Bible. If the argument is legitimate according to what Jehovah's thoughts and wishes set in the Bible then I have no reason to question it. But we all have a conscience and we must train it everyday so that it is sharp and protects us year round. If our conscience is well trained through the Bible then we will consider each of those things you mentioned and many more and determine whether the following scripture applies to it or not and act accordingly: (2 Corinthians 6:14-18) 14 Do not become unevenly yoked with unbelievers. For what fellowship do righteousness and lawlessness have? Or what sharing does light have with darkness? 15 Further, what harmony is there between Christ and Be′li·al? Or what portion does a faithful person have with an unbeliever? 16 And what agreement does God’s temple have with idols? For we are a temple of a living God; just as God said: “I shall reside among them and walk among [them], and I shall be their God, and they will be my people.” 17 “‘Therefore get out from among them, and separate yourselves,’ says Jehovah, ‘and quit touching the unclean thing’”; “‘and I will take YOU in.’” 18 “‘And I shall be a father to YOU, and YOU will be sons and daughters to me,’ says Jehovah the Almighty.” So you see, there is only one rule book, if you want to call it that way, the Bible. That is why not only do we study with those desiring to learn about it, but we continue to study ourselves even if we have been JW for decades. _________________________ There is a lot more to consider on the subject, this was just an overview. If you would like to know more about this and other themes, next time Jehovah's Witness come to your door, ask them for a free Bible study at your convenience. You will never regret all the knowledge you will acquire and remember that what you do with that knowledge is your choice. Knowledge + Application = Wisdom
