Someone please help me with a baby shower list!?

This is my 1st child. I'm stressed out & overwhelmed trying to plan a baby shower. My Fiance is in Iraq so I'm doing this all by myself and I'm due in less than 2 months!! What do I need??? I have bought nothing so far!

  1. Go to www.babiesrus.com. There they have a list of all the necessities... That is what I used when I registered. Or you can buy a baby planning book that will have a check list in it for you to mark off as you buy things.
  2. someone else should throw the shower for you...not yourself... http://www.babycenter.com/0_baby-shower-planning-and-etiquette_1642.bc?scid=momspreg_20090317:4&pe=2UwayYS
  3. No one out of your friends or family has offered to throw your baby shower for you? This website is very helpful. I've used it for baby showers that I've thrown. http://www.babyshower101.com/
  4. Make it simple cake plates forks napkins punch cups and some decorations Why don't you have a friend or your mom or mom-in-law help you?
  5. You need diapers lol.. lots.. dont buy all the same size they run through them so fast. Um. Lots of bottles and wipes. And a bunch of oneis since its going to be summer. Um other than that.. thats about it. But i would ask everyone for diapers and bottles those are the most expensive. And clothes. But not just the size that would fit now, i would also get like 3 months and 6 months they grow out of them so fast. hope that helps
  6. Car seat for sure! Baby bed and furniture for sure! diapers/wipes/butt cream onezies/clothing lots of burp cloths lots of bibs socks diaper bag bath tub for baby shampoo/soap/powder baby detergent bottles/bottle cleaner passifier bouncy seat finger nail clippers baby brush baby thermometer baby monitor head positioner for car seat
  7. While it might be more conventional to have someone throw it for you, I assume you don't have an obvious person around to throw the shower, and I can absolutely understand. I am in the same boat. My friends are all either international and don't really get the whole baby shower thing or long distance- they'll come for the shower but it would be a bit much to ask them to throw me one. But- you deserve a shower, girl! You can probably find a lot of articles online on baby shower planning and activities. You shouldn't really need to buy anything except maybe snacks and decorations, IMO. The point is just to get together with your girlfriends and celebrate the coming baby, right? You could either do it at your house (or someone else's house) OR to make it really easy, how about having a tea or luncheon at some local restaurant/teahouse/coffee shop etc. Then all you have to do is show up with your friends and enjoy yourself. Don't worry, don't stress... and see if you can find someone to help you with it. How about inviting a friend to go shopping together for it? Congrats on your baby!
  8. Loads of cotton "burping" cloths. Lots of sleepwear for baby. A baby Bjorn or sling to carry baby in. A stroller that folds easily. A bouncy chair. A car seat (cannot leave the hospital without one!) A changing table. A crib. Bumpers and sheets for the crib. A highchair. A Moses basket. That's a good start--some things, such as the highchair won't be needed immediately, but as long as people are keen on buying shower gifts, it's a darn good time to ask for them.
  9. Do you have a factory card outlet or a party store? They will have everything you need except for food! lol Games, decroations, plates, ballons, party favors. etc... Hmm KFC sounds good lol
