Why do so many people get so upset over "best of" lists?

Go to any comment section for any "best of" lists and they're filled with personal threats against the author and plenty of "What, no ________?" and "Why is ________ on there? You're an idiot!" I just don't understand the point of getting angry over things like these.

2. I've never seen any bad comments.
3. Because they expect the media and mass US society to validate their own favorites. Pathetic.
4. Notice the person on the "best of" list they are not upset.....(jealousy).
5. they just want to get furious. overdramatic people.
