Is there a database of "deadbeat" job seekers?

Those that make an appointment for a job opening but don't show up? Something like Angies List except a local list of people without a work ethic? I was in a waiting room and overheard the owner and receptionist sharing that "another one didn't show". Wouldn't it help those of us who are serious about working, need to work, want to work, for the ones offering jobs to be able to identify people who make appointments but aren't serious? Less time wasted, more interviews of the ones with a work ethic?

  1. What does that have to do with Politics?
  2. Tsk, tsk. And you were going to be my latex salesman.
  3. First, it was extremely unprofessional for an owner and receptionist to be speaking that way in front of another potential applicant. And no, there is no such thing, and to do so would not only be illegal, it would open the owner/operator of the website up to lawsuit by the folks named on the website, and rightfully so. Just because those people are "deadbeats" doesn't mean they shouldn't be given an opportunity for employment. I was an Account Rep for a Temp Agency for about 4 years, and yes, there are alot of applicants who do not show for interviews/job assignments, etc, but that doesn't mean they shouldn't be employable! What if they have children/families to support? What if the reason for the no-show is they found other employment? Would you really want to ruin anothers chances of finding employment because they wrote down the wrong day or time? Any number of reasons could be feasible. Not to mention, would you rather them find employment, or support them with welfare/food stamps, etc from YOUR taxes??? Oh, and if the person doing the interviewing/hiring is any good at what they do, you can tell who the ones are who aren't serious about working just by talking to them. They are easily identifiable in an interview to those of us who know the red flags to look for.
  4. I wish I could find the link to the article.......Many of the Katrina "victims" from the lower 9th ward in N.O. were evacuated to Austin after the storm. The city chartered a bunch of busses and many businesses got together for a jobs fair. Guess how many people showed up? ONE! and he refused the job offers. Moral of the story, some people just refuse to work because they would rather sponge off your tax dollars. It's only getting worse.
