does yahoo set up 3rd party accounts for craig lists?

there is something that interested us on craigs list, unfortunately we think its a scam, the other party said that they would like to set up an account with yahooo and that yahoo would be the third party involved and will hold the funds, un til we looked at the item he is selling

1. Never heard of that before. To avoid scams never deal with online transactions or over the boarder deals. Always meet in person and use cash, checks can still bounce.
2. SCAM. Yahoo does not ever hold funds or act as a third party in any negotiations. its a typical Craigslist scam. Anyone who mentioned this should be reported to their ISP and do not respond to them for any reason. And why would Yahoo have anything to do with Craigslist. Read the Craigslist scam warnings that say ONLY to deal with people you can meet face to face who will pay cash.
