Best Todo List Software For free?

Hi, i'm looking for some good free todolist software, I loved Swift Todolist Lite so far: which can be found here: http://www.dextronet.com/swift-to-do-list-lite.php But I can't say I like the design, I like the functionality but not the way it looks. Any other good ones? I'm looking for a desktop based application which can synchronize online, while I like Google Docs and other Google Apps for this they just don't do the trick.
