How to stop local computer repair people from selling pirated software?

After years of doing this business, I'm finally opening a storefront. I want to do some advertising on Craigslist and direct customers to my location. However, due to the economy there are some crazy undercutters on Craigs advertising PC repair for $25, etc. This is always a problem in this business, but lately some of my "competition" has been listing software like MS Office 2007 and Windows and they are offerring it as "part of a $60 repair"! This is illegal and it hurts my business as they run out of their homes with no overhead and are selling this pirated software on top of it. The SPA doesn't seem to care about small time pirates like this, so I'm looking for any ideas from people out there. Surely there must be other reputable pc repair shops who run into this when advertising on Craigs and such in this bad economy? Thanks!

  1. If you suspect that someone is selling pirated software then you can contact the software company and informed them about the problem. For example if they are selling pirated MS Office 2007 then you can contact the Microsoft Antipiracy section at their website address and file a complaint...I am pretty sure that Microsoft will do everything possible to end this illegal practice http://www.microsoft.com/piracy/ Good luck and I hope this will help!
