How do I get Word03 to keep formatting when I hit enter?

Since it's an outline template every line is obviously using Numbering. I would like it to continue with the current formatting when I hit enter. For some reason it's returning me to a new line and I have to change the format again which is getting a little irritating when I need to have 4-5 lines in the list. (The formatting in the template is setup so it uses Heading 1, Heading 2, etc)

1. turn off auto formating. On the Tools menu, click AutoCorrect Options, and then click the AutoFormat As You Type tab. Select or clear the options you want.
