I am 15 years old, turning 16 in January, and I am applying for a job at a department store and have to make a resume. I am not applying for a particular position - just whatever is available. I have no job experience, but I have babysitting and volunteer work done. I know I can put those, as well as an objective statement. I was wondering how I should go about listing the skills I have? Do I put them in a list form, or do I describe them in sentences? The skills I can think of right now are: reliable, responsible, and eager to learn. I am well-spoken and my favourite subjects in school are English and Drama because I love communicating to an audience in various ways and studying different types of written work to analyse and perform. At home I hand wash all my laundry except for jeans and I do the dishes. When I put items away, I do so in a neat and organized manner. At school, I was involved with choir for half a year and I made the honour roll for having an average above 85%. I am intuitive and I ask a lot of questions when given a task in order to make sure that I do it correctly. Should I list these on my resume...at least, the things that employers are looking for? Like I said, I am not applying for anything particular, so I don't know what is relevant for a job.
