What would be the English translation of the song La Bamba?

La Bamba was an old folk song in Mexico & then a young artist by the name of Ritchie Valens (Valenzuelo) made it into an early Rock & Roll hit. Then in the 80's the movie "La Bamba" starring Lou Diamond Phillips came out & Los Lobos remade the song for the movie. I've always loved it, but after all these years I never found out what the words mean. To the best of my knowledge these are the lyrics. I copied from a website so if you actually know the song & know somethings wrong let me know, otherwise if you know Spanish could you translate? Para bailar la bamba se necesita una poca de gracia una poca de gracia why otra cosita why arriba why arriba why arriba why arriba why arriba ire Yo no soy marinero yo no soy marinero por ti sere por ti sere por ti sere.............then it repeats a few times & the only change is later when they sing soy capitan.

  1. "In order to dance the "Bamba" (stomp) it takes a little grace For me, for you I'm no seaman I am captain" And it's "arriba, ay arriba": "up! (with the tempo)"
