Would it be fair to put the movie "300" on the list of the top 10 best films of all time?
Hey Johan22: Why no "On the Waterfront" on your list. It's no.1 all time on mine.

- No, watched it last night for the first time and I am still wondering where the plot to the movie is, if you are talking however, best special effects, then yes it could be in the top 10
- No
- I surely agree to that ... 300 is one hell of a movie
- I think it's one of the best films of 2007. But it's definitely not one of the best films ever.
- yeah thats like one of the best movies ever "WE ARE SPARTANS" lol just cant get over that even thought i watched it mad long ago lol
- No, not in the top 10, maybe (and a big maybe) the top 100.
- Anyone who would put this movie into a list of the "ten best films of all time" has probaby only seen 9 other movies in their whole life!
- no- it was a good move dont get me wrong -

The rankings are based upon domestic theatrical box office receipts (including some theatrical re-release receipts) and do not include video rentals, TV rights, international box office figures, or other revenues. (Note: A few other sites post all-time box-office information, including the Internet Movie DataBase, Boxofficereport.com, The-Movie-Times.com, Boxofficemojo.com, and Movieweb.com.) The 100 Greatest Films that have been selected at this site are identified throughout by a yellow star . In the unadjusted (for inflation) list of domestic box-office champs - with rankings that change daily with every new blockbuster release - has few films that are classics or films from Hollywood's Golden Era included in this top-heavy list of recent films. Top-grossing, financially-successful films often rate lower in artistic achievement. Blockbusters, special effects wonders, films with sequels and expensive campaign and publicity ads fill many of the positions. (Notice that there are very few pre-1980 films in the unadjusted list.) The adjusted (for inflation) list of domestic box-office champs - with rankings that don't vary much from month to month (and isn't updated as regularly) - takes into account inflationary factors such as ticket prices and any re-issues or re-releases, and is more reflective of a film's actual appeal. The escalating price of theatre tickets would otherwise bias a list of all-time blockbuster films to recent releases. [It is inflation-adjusted to the 2006 average ticket price of $6.58. Most pre-1980 pictures achieved their totals through multiple releases.] The Decade's All-Time Box Office Hits of the most popular films (for each of the decades from the Pre-Sound Era to the decade of the 1990s) have also been compiled from various sources. - I don't think it should be in the top 10. Maybe top 50 but there are a lot of movies out there and I don't think it makes the cut. By the way, thanks for helping me get to level 3 at 999 points til I hit submit!
- dunno i havent seen it
- it is a pretty damn awesome film so yeah i would agree
- No. I'm not saying the following movies necessarily belong on the top 10 list of all time but I think they are all at least more deserving than 300. Look at my short list and I'm pretty sure you can find AT LEAST 10 movies more worthy than 300. Citizen Kane Wizard of Oz Jaws The Godfather The Godfather Part 2 Ben Hur Star Wars (A New Hope or Empire Strikes Back) Blazing Saddles Gone with the Wind Casablanca Goodfellas Raging Bull Taxi Driver Apocalypse Now Unforgiven Dr. Strangelove Pulp FIction Psycho The Lord of the Rings (all 3) The Matrix Forrest Gump Indiana Jones (Raiders of the Lost Arc) Rocky Alien
- No. It was just not that good in my book.
- Yep,liked the movie☺♥
- No. It would be nowhere close. I wouldn't even count it in the top 100 of all time. There are many, many other movies that 300 could not even begin to compete with. Then again, I'm sure some of you are too young to remember the true classics...let alone have seen them. Film greats include Patton, Titanic, The Quiet Man, All Quiet on the Western Front, Heartbreak Ridge, The Great Escape, Star Wars, Raiders of the Lost Ark, ET and The Fugitve. EMT I also agree with Johan22...he has listed some other movie greats.
- not by a long shot.
- No, unless you are a neocon. It is the worst ever on my list. God Bless
- Yes it was a great movie!! And very informative, I learned sooo much about Greeks and Iranians!! Lots of piercings and the Greeks all had memberships to Ballys!!
