What do you think of the current Governor of Illinois being arrested for corruption?

I live in IL., and this is getting old. Our former Governor is still in prison, and I pulled up a MSNBC article that lists the IL. Governors who have been arrested. Do we hold the record for Governors convicted of felonies? News Article: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/28139155/

  1. I think its pretty damn funny!
  2. Just another governor arrested for corruption, or shaming themselves in some other way.. Seems to be a common occurrence these days.
  3. I am truly sorry there seems to be a lot of corruption in your state. I am sure there is corruption in others but it seems that your political figures get caught more easily. It makes me wonder though how far does the corruption spread maybe even all the way to the future White House considering where Obama came from politically.
  4. Everyone wants to make a buck. Poor people sometimes use guns. Richer ones use political powers.
  5. Pretty soon they will catch up to New Jersey.
  6. I'm not surprised. The Chicago Political Machine is one of the most corrupt in this country. NJ is probably a close second. I can't believe our next President will have come from this batch of Hoodlums! When will Illinois wake up?
  7. I can't feel sorry for the Gov. B. Although he did have humble beginnings, he got wrapped up in what is clearly and truly known as "Chicago politics," thought he wouldn't/couldn't be caught, and now he will suffer the consequences. I don't think Illinois holds the record - I would wager, if you check history (and the media will in the weeks to come) it will be either New York or one of the Southern states, simply because they are older. I do have a bit of sympathy for you Illinoisans, though. I'm from Missouri, and we have a mini, e-mail scandal with outgoing Gov. Blunt, but it's not nearly as big as an FBI arrest. Ouch. Peace.
  8. I'm from Illinois too and it seems we are best known as the corrupted state. As far as corruption goes, I will like to thrown in that Mayor Daley seems to be no better with his mob connections and hired truck scandal either. If the FBI has all the statements Blagojevich made on tape, well he were just caught with his pants down. He seems like a nice guy but let power get the best of him, did he ever thought this would catch up with him sooner or later? I wonder how this will affect Obama, especially since he dealt with the Governor and that Tony Rezko guy.
  9. As the FBI Spokesman said today, if Illinois isn't the MOST corrupt state it is certainly in the running for it.
  10. He took it as a joke and we took it seriously.
  11. Yes my state is ranked number 4 for organized crime and we have never had 1 get busted ever, and the only politician I know of ever convicted in my state was congressman with a bad wig.
