Will I get a tax rebate check if I'm listed as a dependent?
I know there are a lot of stipulations in reference to the tax refund checks that the government is hoping will spur the economy. I've heard a few rumors about dependents not being eligible, but that wasn't mentioned in this article, which lists 6 reasons why not to expect a rebate check.... http://finance.yahoo.com/taxes/article/104737/Six-Reasons-You-Shouldn't-Count-on-Rebate-Check-Before-It's-Cut

- If you are a dependent you will not recieve a rebate check because you yourself cannot claim dependents on your refund. The rebate is for those who have qualifying dependents. Sorry!
- No. The person who claimed you will get the money.
- Dependents aren't eligible. Whatever article you read might not have mentioned it, but go to irs.gov and read about the rebate, and it will say that.
