I heard that October is Banned Book Month. Is there a list on some site that tells what books have been?
banned and where they were banned? I work in library and we were thinking of listing banned books that are famous and not so famous. Maybe be even putting together a display about them. Anyone know of any sites that could give me info on this subject?

- The American Library Association has an index of banned books here: http://www.ala.org/ala/issuesadvocacy/banned/frequentlychallenged/index.cfm You can find the titles sorted by both date of challenge and reason for challenge on the left margin.

- It's actually banned book week, from September 26 to October 3. Some famous banned books include "Lady Chatterley's Lover" by DH Lawrence, "Ulysses" by James Joyce, "Lolita" by Vladmir Nabokov "The Grapes of Wrath" by John Steinbeck "The Tropic of Cancer" by Henry Miller and "Uncle Tom's Cabin" by Harriet Beecher Stowe. As you are a librarian, I am surprised that you did not know this.
