  1. Much cheaper than California ammo. Sadly, will be outlawed in my state soon. Also the only way to get rare ammo, like .256 Winchester Magnum or 9mm Largo. I intend on making one last big order for my Astra 400 and my Marlin 62. Also, the only way for me to get LeverRevolution ammo.
  2. I thinks it's a great thing. Cheap ammo.
  3. It's basic capitalism at its finest! The consumer has more choices, and the seller has a wider customer base. What's not to like? While shipping charges can sometimes eat into potential cost savings, it offers easy comparison shopping and much better availability. This is particularly true when supplies are limited, as was the case a year ago.
  4. I love it. I can pick up a box of 9x18 makarov at a local gun store than cost around $23 a box, or i can order them for $11 a box. Most ammo is much cheaper to get off the web... @ sarcasm: Youre gonna have to do something a bit more creative to get under my skin.
  5. I would order mail order ammo if: Buying in really large quantities Buying unusual calibers Buying special types of loads If there are no good sources nearby If none of these apply, you're probably better off buying locally. Remember if you buy mail order, the freight can be costly, and if you order the wrong thing, you're stuck. If there is a big sporting goods store like Cabela's, Bass Pro Shops, Academy, or Dick's Sporting Goods nearby, you'll probably get a better deal when they put the ammo on sale.

  7. redfred hits the nail on the head. With rare exceptions, buying ammo online is no cost savings. If you have an unusual caliber its almost a must. If you are just buying common stuff, unless its surplus i havent seen a savings, especially with shipping.
  8. Cheaper and tax free.
  9. I don't see where it is any cheaper than it is available locally and the shipping on ammo is normally more than the tax if purchased locally.
