how can I hold a raffel of a car to generate start up money for a new childcare business??
I am trying to set up a raffel of a 1992 buick park avenue to generate start up money for a new business. I was thinking of placeing the car outside of my business ,, with a large red bow on top{ similar to cars displayed on tv during Christmas time as presents } and offer raffel tickets of $200 for a drawing to take place during a benefit dinner.. winner does not have to be present to win. is this feasible , and sensible ?? and whom do I need to contac for authorization, such as the alderman, local business council, e.t.c.?

- I woudl think that if you owned the vehicle, you could raffle it off anyway you want. You might want to check with the local tax office to see if the funds raised need to be reported for taxation purposes, though.
- You also might want to lower the cost of the ticket. Most people won't spend $200 for a slim chance to win a 1992 Park Avenue
- a 92' Buick..no offense but it's not going to be a huge seller of raffle tickets costing $ 200....
- I gotta be honest with you, I think $200 a ticket would be way too much. I know that I wouldn't spend that much on something that is a maybe and not a for sure, maybe $50 a ticket, but I think you are too high otherwise. Also yes as long as you own the car, you should be able to raffle it off as you like. Try calling the city where you live and see if you need permits or anything for that though
- Where do you live? This would not be legal virtually anywhere in the US.
