Question for the computer/social website wizard?

Three of us sometimes share a computer at my office (Two of us own the office). I go to yahoo mail and once opened up the top bar where it offers you a choice to be Offline (signed out of chat), Available, Busy or invisible. I opened up Available to see what would happen for I never used this feature before. It came up with many messages that said "messages while you were offline" usually from woman from porn sites containing live videos. Can this just come up to anyone? Or is someone visiting these sites? I don't get this on my home computer. I had my office computer emptied at a computer place and these messages are back again. Thank You so much!

1. Its called spam, it can come if anyone on that yahoo account has ever used yahoo chat. Not necessarily any dirty porn sexchat, but simple yahoo chat. I mean its very likely that nobody opened any of these sites. Its just spam (a bad way of advertisement).
