Could I send myself through the mail to another country?

Sounds plausible to me! I put myself into a rather large box, with padding of course. Stocked with some food and water. Make sure it says it's fragile. Tell me why or why not this could work. If it could work, list some pros and cons. I wouldn't be doing it for bad reasons (and yes I know that doesn't exempt me from the fact that it's illegal). I'm just awfully cheap! Of course, I've ruled this option out.

1. you could probably pull it off as long as they didn't know you were in there :p and you'd need a friend who had the right to send things overseas

Unhygienic conditions for long time can have negative effects. If the travel is alone, it will involve emotional issues. Above all, if the distance is too long, the person have to be tough to face any eventuality.Well, what if the container fall down from crane.more over there are stringent checks at the ports and hence, back up plans have to be there to escape,incase there is catch 22 situation. If caught by customs, its gonna be tough. There are lot of risks involved. Even with adequate food and water,lack of awareness about the location can be a problem.More over if any illness occur and if the person cant move, it will me a total mess to even seek help.
3. It's been done before, a guy used DHL to ship himself to Houston I think. It's illegal though.
4. You probably have a better than average chance of getting there dead. If you get there alive, you may well end up in jail. Not worth it.
5. Theoretically, it might work but there are big risks like not having enough air to breath. Trying to figure out a way to illegally get inside the USA or are you too cheap to buy a plane ticket?
