What is the difference between NCAA Division I FBS and NCAA Division 1?

So this wikipedia article says that there is no championship game for Division 1 FBS and that the champion is determined by the BCS. But this other page lists the winners for NCAA division 1 football championships. What is the difference? They're both division 1? Is one of them a higher level than the other? For example, it says Villa Nova won the championship last year. Yet the BCS ranking has Alabama as number 1. Villa Nova isn't even on that list. If they are the same division why are they not ranked together? Is one a higher level?
