To all the housewives out there.... do you have a daily chore list or schedule?
I just stop working after 12 years of working and having a little adjustment problems. I have been cleaning but I feel disorganized and like I am not getting anything done. How do you organize yourself? Might just be because I am pregnant and can't think straight but I need some help! Is there any website or did you make your own to do list? My house is still disorganized and I am still unpacking stuff- and figuring out where to place furniture since I have to clean out a room for the nursery,

- There's no need for a list, if something needs to be picked up I pick it up. Every morning I clean everything really well then throughout the day I clean up as things get messy. Just clean first thing in the morning before doing anything else and don't procrastinate.
- Anything that needs to be done is done! lol With a 3 year old, my day usually consists of helping her clean up the many disasters she makes in a day. Dishes are done right after dinner. Laundry is done every sunday, sweep and mop every other day.
- I just look out and around and see what needs done. That is what I do usually. I'm a house husband and although my wife occasionally wants certain things done, but for the most part I just see what needs done and do it. That's just me though.
- I am not a schedule person but I really like mine now. I'm not crazy with it, like I don't give up going out with a friend or whatever to clean but I try to stick to it. I use about 60% of what FlyLady says to do. Go to her website. She's very motivating and it's a really great set up. It's very confusing at first but after you get the hang of it it's great. I pretty much only use the flyzone set up which focuses on a different zone in your house every week. I have a 14 month old and I'm 8 months pregnant and this is easy for me to follow. Sometimes it means cleaning for 20 minutes when everyone is in bed, depending how my day went but it still works out. Just know that things will change for a while once the baby comes. That's okay, babies are great for creating routines :)
- I made up my own list. For sanity sake. Cleaning the same stuff everyday all over again feels like you never accomplish anything. So I have a rough schedule that can be put on hold etc if need be. Dishes and food are done daily of course all intensive cleaning is given a day of week. M -Laundry, bathrooms, clean sheets, kittchen T - Bedrooms and vacuum, more laundry w-shopping for week th - bills/menu plan shopping list for next 2 weeks f- day of fun only play sat- basement toy organization sun- garbage at curb Hope this helps. Remember it is only a rough outline be flexible sometimes life happens etc. Sick kids trump chores etc. also when you are pregnant morning sickness and tired are allowed to slow you down. I only do a schedule so that I feel like I can accomplish something. Sure everyday spills etc get cleaned but floor does not need to be washed and waxed everyday not in my house. Life is too important to be based on my kitchen floor shine. Good luck congrats and enjoy that baby!
- try some volunteering it helps out a great cause and keeps you busy
- Try Fly lady to get you under control and into a pattern. Helps. I've been using her system off and on ever since she had a website (10 years?). Sometimes I just have to let things slack off, but I can at least do a small amount for each day to keep things from completely falling apart. If you have mobility problems (like you might towards the end of pregnancy), just adapt the list. The cons against her system is that it is very structured (too much for me sometimes) and the amount of email became overwhelming for me over time. Another option, if that is too rigorous or you feel boxed in, is to get the book "Speed Cleaning" by Jeff Campbell. Most libraries have it. This system works great if you don't have a ton of clutter and I highly recommend it to anybody trying to get their preteen or teenager in the habit of cleaning fast to get it done. IMHO, fast is better than perfect. Buy entry carpets. It saves on a lot of cleaning!
