does Craig list personal ads ever work?

i was bored the other day so i went on to the craig list personal ads and post one to see. after all i received couple emails from girls saying that they want to meet up but in order to meet up, i have to go through the dating websites to get their number or whatever but i found out in order to message or get more information i have to pay for the membership for the sites. so my question is does this ever work? are the girls on craiglist real?

1. If they are directing you to a website that requires you to pay, those girls are definitely just spam. Don't waste your money.
