- In simple terms: Books get banned because some idiot redneck hick gets upset by one, and has the money and the time to waste on inflicting their ill will on the library. That is almost always how it turns out, too. It's some half-literate imbecile with no imagination who hates _everything_ that might challenge his narrow scope of reality, and so like Scrooge he runs amok screaming "Bah and humbug!" to the book, creating controversy and lies where none truly exist. Honestly. Only retarded rednecks who want to be dictators do this.
