how do i stop people from requesting to add to their online list?

every time i go into my yahoo mail it takes forever to load because it is waiting on between 10-20 add requests to load.

1. Up by your name at top of mail page click on the tiny arrow by the smiley face and make sure you are signed out of the chat feature
