Is there a government site that lists what small retail business is the most successful to open?
Wondering what products seem to sell the best. Looking for ideas on what may be a reliably good retail operation to start up. I know basics sell but it is too hard to compete against Walmart types. Does the government or any organization track what moves? Thanks

- The government does not do that. Some of the business magazines had articles about which small business was most-likely to still be in business 10 years later. Jewelry stores were number one. Later, the experts said that it was because jewelry store owners needed so much cash to open their business that they were best able to ride out a period of slow business.
