Blog site recommendations?

I have had a Xanga blog for a while as a place to keep my writing but recently they have brought in these gross advertisements and it's ruining the beauty of my blog! Anyway I want to relocate and I'm having a really hard time finding a good and free blogging platform. So far I have tried Wordpress, Typepad and Blogspot but Wordpress and Typepad don't allow me enough wiggle room with themes (without paying) and Blogspot has that horrid bar across the top. This is my blog: http://beaslaveforsomething.xanga.com Does anyone know a good site that would cater for this sort of theme? I forgot to mention! - I use Tumblr regularly it's not really suitable!!!

1. Try Tumblr.
2. If you don't want to pay to use a hosting site and use your own install of say wordpress, you're going to be limited and you will not be able to do what you want, or you're going to have an ugly bar, or advertisements, or the site is going to be slow. Free sites do not cater to their customer needs and/or wants.
3. Use Blogger, its stable and you can add your own ads if you want, something many of the other free blogging don't allow. The Header block is easily dealt with (see link)
4. Wordpress is one of the blog that offers a good quality. Blogging is an amazing way to make money online.
