Is there a site like Angie's List that doesn't have a membership fee?

I only want to use it one time so I don't want to have to pay a membership fee. Any suggestions? Please and thank you

1. Yelp.com rates businesses. kudzu.com has lists of businesses with descriptions (both are free and i don't work for them)
2. Hi there. I'm Cheryl Reed. I work for Angie's List, and just wanted to alert you that we have a monthly membership fee, as well as the annual option. I don't mean to be sales-y, but if you email me at cherylr@angieslist.com I can figure out for you what that fee will be -- it varies by market -- and you can maybe access the information you need. I understand a lot of folks balk at the subscription model. We have a complex set of systems in place to maximize the reliability of the information we collect, and we have a lot of other services that come with membership, including exclusive discounts. It's easy to get more than your membership fee back in those discounts -- plus you have the comfort of knowing you're hiring someone who's been vetted already by people just like you.
