Do you agree with this top 10 scariest movie list? What would you change?

Do you agree with this top 10 scariest movie list? I didn't make the list up. I went around the internet looking for top 10 lists and I took the average and made a list out of the average of what most people think the top 10 are, and I gave each movie points based on how many times ive seen them in the top 10 and how high they were.. I came up with this: 1. The Shining (1980) (24 points) 2. The Exorcist (1973) (19 points) 3. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974) (17 points) 4. Psycho (1960) (16 points) 5. Alien (1979) (14 points) 6. The Evil Dead (1981) (12 points) 7. Halloween (1979) (9 points) 8. Jaws (1975) (7 points) 9. Rosemary's Baby (1968) (4 points) 10. Nightmare On Elm Street (1984) (3 points) Agree ? Disagree ? Anything you would change? any movies you would add or get rid of??

  1. None of them are scary, they all dated horribly. Drag Me to Hell and The Orphanage should be in there. Rest should be cool Japanese horrors :)
  2. In my opinion, I don't think classics such as "The Shining" or "Jaws" really have that scare factor anymore, as much as just regular entertainment. It takes a lot to scare the desensitized generation, movies have to really get into your mind and eat at your sanity from there to be scary. Alien? Not even a horror movie in my books, but nonetheless a good movie. I think movies like The Human Centipede should be added/exchanged. PS. A list like this is largely up to individual opinion. It relies largely on what scares people, which is most often completely different. For example, I'm not scared of sharks, but I am scared of needles. I think all of those are good movies, but not all that scary - to me.
  3. The shining is definitely #1 but I didn't care too much for psycho. It was good just not great. A newer movie u can add is frailty oh and vacancy.
  4. Agreed..........
  5. Clockwork Orange should be up there somewhere. That movie is disturbing.
  6. All good except I would think that number #8 would be "The Thing" instead of "Jaws". Consider that... ☺☻
