How to create a list in the order of alphabet by last name?

I am working with excel and encountering with matter that I want to order my contact list alphabeticly by last name and I dont want to rewrite the last name to other colunm. What should I do. Thanks

1. Highlight all the information in the table and go to "data", "sort" and it will give you the option of which column you want to sort by. Choose the column with the names in it and sort reverse alphabetically (It will give you some options). If you only highlight the names it will only sort the names(and leave the rest of the data unsorted), but you can undo by going to "edit" "undo"
