In yahoo instant messenger what does it mean if someone want to add you to there online list?.?

I got this offline message on "Yahoo Messenger" asking me this: *** has requested to add you to their online list. What does this mean?. I could except or decline. What does this have to do with? Connections or something?

1. Yes, it has to do with connections, mainly for updates in your pulse profile thing. If you accept, you will be added to their connect list. Be advised though, they might just be spammers or people you don't want chat with (aka sex offenders). So don't accept them, unless you know them.
